I miss our Zumba and STRONG peeps SOOOO MUCH! I hope you all are staying healthy & finding a groove getting your workouts in at home, and taking social distancing seriously so we can get to our new normal sooner than later. Pumped Up classes will continue to be paused while the State Stay at Home Order is in effect, at least through April 7 when the situation will be reevaluated. In the meantime, utilize the many classes available with online streaming, YouTube, etc. to get your Zumba fix, lifting weights, yoga, cardio, meditation... the list goes on and on. When the weather is agreeable, get outside and play in the dirt, go for a walk, run, bike ride... so many opportunities to keep your body moving at a safe & acceptable social distance from others.
Here's to hoping, praying, sending mojo that we will be able to resume our awesome group exercise Zumba and STRONG classes before too long, and be warned - when that time comes, I will be hugging everyone who walks through that door!

As much as I would love to stay open guys, I need to err on the side of caution here. With the recent announcement from Gov. Pritzker that all Illinois bars and restaurants will be closing due to COVID-19, I've decided to pause classes until March 30, when I'll reassess the situation. The most important thing for everyone is to stay healthy! Please use common sense when out & about, frequent hand-washing, and staying home if you don't feel well.
Let's use this time of "social distancing" to focus on elements in our own lives that could benefit from some attention. Read that book series you've not made time for yet, learn a new game or try a new eating plan, or even spending more time with your family. Let's utilize this sequestered time to make a positive change in our lives that we can do from the comfort of our zones. Focus on ourselves, our loved ones, friends, family, and pick up the phone instead of texting or email, stay connected, healthy and safe.
So for now, ALL PUMPED UP CLASSES ARE ON PAUSE THROUGH MARCH 30 when the situation will be re-evaluated. Stay safe & healthy, everyone!

Your certified Zumba and STRONG by Zumba instructors are here to help guide you on your fitness journey by bringing you Zumba with strengthening classes, and STRONG by Zumba!
Our Zumba with strengthening class consists of approximately 45 minutes of cardio, including classic Zumba routines accompanied by strengthening moves, incorporating standing abs, kicks, squats to add some athleticism to the routines. After the cardio portion, we have 20 minutes of weights (or without) and ab work, finishing with a yoga-inspired stretch. Class time usually runs 65-70 minutes.
STRONG by Zumba is a High Intensity Tempo Training class, where you use your body weight to build muscle and burn calories while performing strengthening moves to amazing music created just for this program. Every move has a beat, every beat has a move, every cymbal a punch or every drum beat is a kick. Modifications and progressions are demonstrated, so YOU tailor this class to fit your body, endurance, and level of activity. Class starts with a warm-up, followed by 4 quadrants. Quads 1-3 build the heart rate and calorie burning intensity, and Quad 4 is "floor play", where we work on core strength and building muscles on our yoga mats, finishing with a good, deep stretch. Class time runs 60 minutes.
Here at Pumped Up Dance Fitness, we incorporate strengthening with our Zumba classes. You can expect a playlist consisting of approximately 45 minutes of kick-butt cardio, which includes classic Zumba routines and choreography, in addition to routines designed to incorporate core work, punching, kicking, squats, etc. After the cardio portion, we grab our hand weights (or without!) and yoga mats for 20 minutes of arm, ab, torso & leg/booty work, finishing up with a yoga-inspired stretch. Total class time for Z with strengthening is 65-70 minutes. Your instructors will demonstrate different levels of progression for each routine, so no matter your personal level of fitness, you will get a great workout!
STRONG by Zumba is not dance! SBZ is Zumba's version of a HITT program - High Intensity Tempo Training - where every move has a beat, every beat has a move. SBZ has brought in world-class athletes to create a strengthening format where we use our bodies to build muscle & burn calories. The choreography for this 60-minute format has been reverse-engineered to amazing music, where every drum beat is a kick, every cymbal strike is a punch. Your SBZ instructors will demonstrate base moves, modifications and progressions, so no matter your body type, level of fitness or endurance, SBZ is for everyone!
Walk-in rate is $5 per class, or choose to buy 10 classes for $45.

Pumped Up! Dance Fitness classes are full body workouts with varied levels of intensity. Our certified Zumba instructors add energizing, foot-tapping music set to moves that will challenge your endurance, fire up your metabolism, and burn max calories. We add additional strength training that you won’t get in other Zumba classes. In our Monday & Thursday classes, you can expect 45 minutes of cardio with a cooldown, followed by 15 additional minutes of arm and ab strengthening, finishing up with a yoga-inspired stretch that will motivate you to dig in, wake up those muscles, and challenge yourself!
Our STRONG by Zumba classes are held Tuesday evenings at 6:15 p.m. Classes are 60 minutes and is the first non-dance based program from Zumba. Strong focuses on moving to the beat, incorporating strength, agility and interval training that is made for all ages and fitness levels. Your Strong by Zumba instructors will show you base moves, modifications and progressions to help you meet your fitness goals. All moves are modifiable for all levels, whether you're new to fitness or looking to add some strength training to your workouts.
All fitness levels are welcome – our instructors provide modifications so everyone can have a fun and productive workout. The YNOT building is very spacious, so there’s plenty of room to move and shake it with your buddies.
